[00:00:11] What's worthwhile to consume, consider, believe, say and do towards peace of mind, vitality of body, and joy of spirit. I'm Ramsey Zimmerman. Here's some more healthy living, motivation and discussion.
[00:00:31] Hey there, it's Ramsay here.
[00:00:33] With this being the first episode of the year, I'd like to just go ahead and state my intentions for 2026.
[00:00:40] I don't know if things will turn out a certain way, but I do believe that if we have clear intentions and we express them and state them openly and honestly, then we have the best hope and chance to realize them. How about you two know what you intend to do and achieve in this new year? Curious about what I'm thinking?
[00:00:58] Then listen on and also let me know what you think.
[00:01:05] This year I intend to connect or reconnect with lots of people. I'm done hiding and dodging. I'm going to try to reach out and respond to people in meaningful, personal, one on one kinds of ways. I intend to ask questions, seek many perspectives, try to learn what people really think and believe about things.
[00:01:25] I also intend to share what I really think and believe and know when it's appropriate, when people are ready to hear it. I do not intend to force my ideas or beliefs on anyone. I intend to take good care of myself and practice what I preach in terms of good, natural, holistic health. I intend to get seven or eight hours of sleep each night, eat mostly nutrient dense whole food, not drink too much alcohol, and to get regular exercise.
[00:01:53] I intend to make the most out of my days, realizing that sometimes I feel energetic and capable and sometimes I feel tired and incapable. I intend to strive when I feel good, to rest when I'm tired, and to do physical things when my brain is foggy. I intend to seek positive motivation and hold myself to constructive discipline and tenacity.
[00:02:18] I intend to lay out goals, make plans and follow schedules. I intend to get a lot done and most importantly, I do not intend to work alone.
[00:02:29] I intend to actively seek out opportunities for collaboration. There are so many people and organizations out there doing good and helping people and making the world a better place.
[00:02:40] I intend to look for ways to get involved, to pitch in, to serve, to come alongside. I have a lot to offer and I intend to offer my skills and services.
[00:02:51] I am most recently a podcaster, author and nutritional therapy practitioner or ntp, but I'm still a public speaker, group facilitator, strategic planner, volunteer coordinator, event planner, and program director.
[00:03:08] All of these skills and experiences make me who I am and what I can accomplish towards common goods. I intend to bring my whole self to situations where I can be of service.
[00:03:18] This year I intend to make offers.
[00:03:21] I offer this what's Worthwhile podcast as a source of healthy living motivation and discussion. I offer my book on Amazon Stress Response Manage your response to stress in order to reduce anxiety, avoid burnout and find calm and steady focus.
[00:03:39] I offer my personal and group coaching especially to guys struggling to get better before burnout. And I offer to consider any other way that I can help you. I intend to remain optimistic, be part of the larger solution and greater good, and to build bridges.
[00:03:57] I believe that the world is a beautiful and broken place filled with people who want to live and love and be happy. But we often find ourselves butting heads, pitted against each other by our so called leaders.
[00:04:11] I believe we have more in common than we have indifference. I intend to show up for community meetings, conversations where we can express ourselves and listen deeply to what others have to say.
[00:04:25] I intend to understand others and to make myself understood. I intend to recognize and share the good works of others.
[00:04:33] The podcast discussion is a great medium to explore thoughts and works. I intend to keep hosting guests on my podcast and I intend to be a guest on others podcasts as well.
[00:04:45] And through all of this I intend to give God the glory. Any success I have or will have, the credit goes to God and His work in my life. I have no idea what I'm doing or how to be successful, but God knows all I can do is keep trying to seek his will for me and not screw it up too badly. Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I intend to say his name more often and not be afraid of offending people.
[00:05:11] In fact, I tend to reject fear in favor of love.
[00:05:16] I think these are the two great driving forces in our lives, fear and love.
[00:05:21] I intend to lean into love as the primary motivating factor in my life. Love for my family, friends, communities, people and love for myself and for God. But I need to be realistic too. I don't always feel great, upbeat, optimistic and strong.
[00:05:38] I intend to cut myself some slack when I'm discouraged, distracted or down.
[00:05:44] It happens to everyone and I know it happens to me.
[00:05:48] I intend to remember when I feel lousy that I will not always feel lousy, just as I feel good now. And remember that I will not always feel good. How about you? Can you relate? What do you intend for 2026? I'd love to hear about it. Reach out and let me know. It's exciting to start a new year. I don't know exactly how it's going to go, but I intend to find out, and for today, that is enough.
